The other day Nate was kind enough to gift me a game while it was on sale. Thank you Nate! I guess he meant to gift me and someone else the same game, but accidentally gifted it to me twice. Double-thanks, Nate (it was a Double-Fine game after all).
Not in the need for two copies, was wondering what would happen when I reject his second gift. Would Nate get it back, so he could re-gift it? Would it disappear into thin air? How do these edge cases get handled on Steam?

Thankfully we monitored the process and can confirm that the game copy is indeed returned to Nate’s inventory, so he can re-gift it to someone else. In this case it ended up as a refund of the original payment method, not store credit (which is nice).
Always good to check these things!
