I have several Fedora installations, one of which has been around since version 35. Newer installations have a Compress option in the Dolphin context menu, which I’ve grown quite partial to. This older installation doesn’t seem to have it, and I was wondering how to install it.

Turns out we need a package called ARK. Who knows what it does, or why my older system doesn’t have it installed, but hey – let’s just add it and not worry about it.
dnf install ark

unar x86_64 1.10.8-10.fc42 fedora 4.7 MiB

And that does that! Close Dolphin and re-open it, and boom – compress menu!
